Looks like the Porch of the Maidens from the Acropolis in Athens.

If true, it obviously points to a Greek origin for this item.

Female figures holding up a portico roof are known as carayatids. I think the original on the Acropolis was designed by Iktinos and Calicrates.

The Acropolis is the actual ancient  'city', and the building that we all generally think of when we hear 'acropolis' is actually the Parthenon, just one of the buildings that make up the Acropolis, a Temple built to worship the Goddess Athena .... I'm half Greek and half Italian, and trod those ancient stones every summer for probably the first 10 years of my life (some might suggest not long after the initial construction!)   ;D ;D ;D

It could even be the Temple of Diana in Rome? As was ... not as is.

A Strauss waltz and a table full of pastries would make a trip to Vienna complete after visiting this faux temple. Aye?
