Hi Artx,

Judging by the mark the case it looks to be solid 14K gold (58.5% gold). If you wanted to calculate the scrap value of the gold you would need to weigh the case without the workings and the glass. However, there is probably more value in the piece as a whole. It is difficult to make out all the markings on the case, but one forum that you might want to try  is the watch & clock forum  http://www.nawcc.org/

They will probably also ask for clearer pics of the case and also the mechanism, and may be able to tell you everything you need to know.

Good luck

Found this and the 8th watch down seems to be very similar to yours

http://watch-auctions.com/model/no-model/0?page=2062&keep_filters=1

If we can find out how much Fellows sold it for then it might help you.

They sold it for £380 but it was in better condition than Artx's, but also at a time when gold prices were slightly lower.

Think today this should be going for £400-450

Hi Artx,

I would still show it on the watch forum, get as much info as you can on the actual watch mechanism, you never know it may add $ if you decide to sell it.

This will take you to the right set of forums, and I would perhaps post under European Pocket Watches?

Hi,

If you can get this translated it'll probably tell you everything you need to know:

Hallo Kurt,

Badene

Came from http://uhrforum.de/tegra-chronometre-aus-1910-1920-a-t127484
and I think I can understand enough to make out that it's a Swiss movement (but don't quote me!)   ;)

2 years ago. Less gold but more decorative.

One yours - is the glass dirty or is it the face ?
