Vintage Straight Razors

Hello all!

Any information about the age of these straight razors or the composition of the handles?  They were my maternal grandfathers.  I have his barber chair as well, so needless to say, I am quite sentimental about them.

date wise...between 1818 and 1890...see link....quite a few on ebay....asking prices range from...£20...right up to £150+....handles made from a variety of materials,....including ..mother of pearl, ivory....silver,....

Even if you search ebay...those that you can track down makers, etc...sell for a nice penny!!!

As for the one from German, red box, haven't been able to find that particular name.  BUT it was made most likely for export because the instructions inside are in English.

The last two pics look like bakelite and celluloid  !! Tortoise shell both real and fake were used as well !!  From what I can find that Wade & Butcher is a very good blade !! Most I saw ran between $85. and $250. !! One forum I checked thought highly of them !!

As always, thank you all so much!  I think they will look great mounted on black velvet, in a shadow box behind my grandfather's barber chair!

Nice collection. The uppermost one in the first photo appears to have a horn handle, which was a common material for razors.
The Boker brand has been a well respected razor to this day. Check the prices on new ones!

That light colored one may be either bone or celluloid !! Couldn`t see well enough to tell !!

I don't know why, but I can't help but thinking about Sweeney Todd every time I see these straight razors!  ;)
