Ebay Invoice Notification
« on: September 05, 2013, 09:27:30 am »
Hey guys,

I just started an Ebay account a few weeks ago. I have added a few items, none of which sold. On August 31st I received an e mail from Ebay saying I owed $0.32 , is it some kind of monthly fee I have to pay? I thought I only paid for fees for items that sold, and none of mine have. I haven't attempted to purchase anything either.. I can't find anything about a monthly invoice fee or anything of the sorts on the Ebay help pages. Hopefully I won't have to call and be put on hold for a half hour!! Any help is appreciated! I don't understand why I owe them anything.

Thanks
Kevin

Every time you list something, there is a fee. Sometimes they offer discounted or free listings, but generally speaking, you always owe eBay money. Even if it doesn't sell. Go into "My eBay", and click on the "Account" tab. You will find a break down on last month's statement of each of the fees.
Take every price I say with a grain of salt...

That sucks!! I didn't know it cost every time you listed something.. I actually thought I read that it was free to list. I guess I should have read more before creating an account!! I don't think I will continue with Ebay! :P
Thank You !

It depends on the individual listing !! Some things are free and sometimes there will be an insertion fee !! That sounds like what yours is !! Insertion fees vary depending on what you are listing !! But they are usually about $.35 !!  Do you have anything listed now ?? If so give me a link to one of them !! You should have a few days before ebay will deduct the fee !!  What I used to do when I started is to send them $10. or so to prepay things like this !! But I can buy something of yours and then you will have enough to cover you till you get started and won`t take long  !!  Ebay is still the best way to go !!

Yeah I knew there was a fee of some kind, but I didn't think they would charge it to my account unless the item sold! I don't have anything listed at the moment, but I might put a few up tonight!! Will let you know!
Thank you very much Mart!!!  ;D

Also just put the listing at the shortest time you can,, I always list my items at 3 days,, no more !! The longer you list them for,, the longer it takes to get them to first two pages and that's when they will get bids !! I think you can even do a one day list !!

I won't even say how much money I paid eBay last month, because it was a lot. I do enough volume though, that I get discounts on some of the fees. But it can be quite frustrating when ten or more items don't sell in a night, and I know that I'm still stuck with the fees.

I only sell a few things here and there but I haven`t been charged an insertion fee in a while !!  Seems small sellers get a break on that !! We just get the final value fee !! I think its their way of trying to generate more business !!
