Schumann Betsy Ross Pattern China
« on: September 13, 2013, 04:06:13 pm »
We've got several pieces of Schumann china that we've purchased . I've checked here http://www.efineantiques.com/webpages/figural_panels.htm but could not find the Arzberg mark on any of the Betsy Ross items however checking here http://www.efineantiques.com/webpages/schumann2.htm and reading the footnotes it says the mark was used from around 1930 and possibly up until the 1950s. Does anyone have any information on when it stopped being used and is there any way to date these plates?

Unless there is some difference in pattern or mark (other than one is likely a little newer than the other) you really cant date them !!   Best you can do is find out what year or years this particular pattern was made for a broad range date !!  Many times they will have two production runs for a popular pattern a few years apart !!

Thanks Mart, I guess then with any of the Schumann things I have I can only go by the from and to dates for either that pattern or mark. We picked those two up in Brennham last year and since then we've been there a few times but have never seen another like it or in any of the stores we've been to.
