Not sure whether Chloe wants to sell or just wants to find out more about it. A manufacturer would have helped with the latter, but it may just have to remain a mystery like so many other antiques. If you are wanting to keep it, then enjoy it, and every now and again spend a few minutes stroking it and let it take you back over the decades.
If you want to sell then it should sell, and over here where I am you could easily convert the estimated $ to a £ ... it has the age and the look, and there are plenty of horsey people over here who still have money who would snap it up.
