hi all  i have here an new auction soon and i want to try to buy some few items.
here is the first item i want to try to buy:
this figure is made form marble 44cm long signed "Andreoni"

some one have any idea how much this figure is worth or have any other info about the artist?

Orazio Andreoni 19th century Italian sculptor !! Found several listings,,just google "Andreoni marble sculpture" !! One above had the highest estimate !! Smaller works were $800. to $1200. estimate !! Can`t see what actual selling price was !!  What is the estimate on yours ??

What exactly does the full inscription say, it's hard to tell from your photo. The only sculptor I can find with that surname is Orazio, but the name on the base seems to begin with an H ?

inscription  also says:  this is "A marble figure in the form of a beggar"
and  the estimate is 700-1000$

No !! He means the signature !! On the others some were signed O. Andreoni !!

It also looks like Horace, or something similar, to me but I can't see anywhere that says Orazio signed himself Horace.
I would still like to know exactly what the full inscription is

I almost sure there is no "Orazio"  there in the inscription.

That bottom word seems to read 'sculpture', but why would that be?

That reads 'Fiaschi' which I imagine must be the name of the piece and then  Studio and the sculptors name and Roma, which is how most of Orazio's pieces seem to be signed, Different to the one you are looking at

It's not by him, that's why. And i think it says ' sculpteur ', trying to signify that he did it.

I agree !! Need a pic of the words where it is signed so we can read them all !! Need the one you are wanting to buy instead of what is written on others !!

If the Auction House have put that estimate on it then they must have some idea as to who the sculptor is. Why not contact them and ask them who they are attributing it to?
