That's what I thought !!  Franklin refers to a style of open faced wood heater !!  For one as plain as that one,, no fancy stuff,, about $200. to $250. would be what I suggest !!  Some areas are not that much,, but that amount would be what is fair and average price !!

Have searched US ebay....but no Olympics....realist ically...its only worth what someones prepared to pay...and unless there,s a buyer living close by...then i feel your chances of getting rid of it are slim...the only one i found on US ebay was this one....which is,nt a patch on this one...if it was me i,d offer them $50 each...if there,s 2 sisters, but a good bit less if there,s more....btw...i,ve got a brother and sister...just like them....I have,nt spoken to them since my mother died in 2006.....they both had £.signs .in their eyes.....good luck....

thank you for your help :) They gave me a price of 5-6 hundred so I will still be doing some research, it is sad how some people act when someone has passed.

Can I assume that this is part of the estate...and these two?...are in for a share of whatever it sells for....if thats the case....then i think, they,ll be waiting a long time..to get $600.....its as Mart has said...worth around $200/250....with her strong wind and my Tornado pushing it along...
I make no excuses,and no apologies....but i like a good Malt,

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR4.TRC2.A0.Xwood+cook+stoves&_nkw=wood+cook+stoves&_sacat=0&_from=R40

What is your general location ??  Wood stoves are fairly plentiful in the northern states,, not so much here in the south !! So they would likely sell higher here, but not that much !! $50. to $75. maybe !! There are some new stoves getting bids !!  But asking price and selling price are two different things on the old ones !!!  Most all of the start prices on ebay are over done !!

Yes !! That would make it more difficult to sell  !!  Why don`t you just make them an offer and give them a couple of weeks to see if they can get a better one !!  But you have first option on it !! That way if someone offers a few dollars more you get the chance to match it before it sells to someone else !!  I think it would be a tough sell where you are !!

I wouldn't worry about it being a replica...and we know that they're a slow sell at the $1799.00 price level. ;)

Slow sell !!  That was a no sell !! It had been restored !!  These things are hard to sell,,shops don`t like them because of the weight !! Not many people look forward to having to move one !!

They got an offer for 600.00 today, and maybe I will just match it and keep it. I have kinda become attached to it in just a few days :) Thank you to every one who helped me out with this and put up with me being new here!

Where does it say Olympic Franklin ?? ............ Franklin is usually used in reference to an open face wood burner !!

Thanks Mart.

That was the gist of my Reply #3.

Wood burning cookstoves, ....... and a Franklin stove, ..... just doesn't get it.

If ole Ben had invented the cookstove he surely would have made lots more money. The wives would have made sure of that. ;D ;D ;D

Correct Cogar !!  I tried cooking on my Franklin twice,,,first and last !!  Although you could wrap sweet potatoes in heavy foil and stick them in the ashes an hour or so and they were great !!
