I just won this last night on eBay. I've been having a tough time lately. It used to be you could pick up these postcards for thirty or forty dollars. Now these postcards can be ridiculous. I have my eyes on another one. I have to be careful or I'll get into another bidding war. My husbands loves these cards. I started buying them for him as gifts, but this one I didn't tell him yet exactly what I paid. I might fudge the numbers.

very cool card greenacres==how long have you collected post cards?  If you can believe it, 2 of my brothers and I were on a post card when I was small, we were at the municipal pool in town

My mom, being the frugal person bought one card--and I have never seen it since.

Lol, sugarcube your mom might still have it! Maybe someone in the family has it? I've only been collecting for about 3 years. I started after I rescued a Blue Nose Pit. He was flown to me in three airplanes. Originally he is from Kentucky. He was a year old pup then. With people it's a love hate issue. The antique postcards are from a time when these dogs were considered the number one dog in this country. I manage to win a "Stubby" postcard years ago. He was my first. My husband would always refer to him when he would stick up for the breed. Stubby was a service dog. At that time I was trying to collect pits that were service dogs. I have several, but of course I started to diversify.

Do you just collect the real photos? I probably have 20K+ older cards packed away. If and when I ever get to them, I'll try remember your interest in Pit Bulls. (How come I never see a Chihuahua card?)

I've seen every dog. I think it's patience. I enjoy just looking at the the photos as I search. I also like when the postcards are written on. I'm nosy.  Thank you for thinking of me with your postcards. My dog means a lot to me. I understand the responsibility.  I wish people would understand the issue better. There are only bad people. Not bad dogs. When people come to my home I like to remind them of the background of these animals and hopefully the breed will be more understood.

You know mart I never knew about that until I was asked to do some research before I took my  "Butch". I really had to learn about having an alpha female. She is a true "bitch". She reminds me of a couple that's been married for  a long time and the husband does these things that get on her nerves.   The chaining is a southern thing. I can see the loyalty of the breed. I think that dog would protect me to the end!

Adorable pups!  Since we are doing furry children pictures here's mine.  She was in a kill shelter in NC so I had her brought up here to have a family instead, she is very sweet.  My coon cat on the other hand has a dual personality.
