more barn finds .... rocking chair with leather seat
« on: October 05, 2013, 04:55:34 pm »
I found this in the loft of the barn thought it was kind of interesting it has a leather seat, something I have not seen before. Someone has painted it at some point, thinking about taking the paint off and refinishing, any ideas or comments.

I wouldn`t bet on that seat being real leather !!  They made faux leather out of a pressed fiber !! May have had sheet caning and when it wore out they replaced it with this one !!  You can still buy those seats !!

The easiest way is to find a place to get it "dipped".

Otherwise, a good "liquid" paint remover and a wire brush.

Dipping is ok.....as long as the chair is not made of Oak....for if it is the oak will turn black....and then it,ll be a case of...Aargh!!.....that was Mart,s fault.... ;D
