My wife inherited two of these cabinets, we are considering selling them but not clear as to the value or accurate description.  Online searches have shown similar items listed for amounts between $650 and $4700. Are they Louis XVI? Vernis Martin?  In what period were they constructed? If they are French then why are they stamped "made in spain" on the back.  The cabinets are numbered 21 and 22 on the back,  how many were made?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A potential buyer looked at cabinets and told me they were cheap reproductions only worth 150 each. Not glass but plexiglass, not made in Spain ( They are marked MADE IN SPAIN on the back) and inlay not even metal! Nails holding inlay should not be showing.  I didnt sell them but very curious about the quality of cabinets.  All help is greatly appreciated!!

20th century cabinets made in an earlier French style.

They probably retail for several hundred pounds but a fairly cheap at auctions here in the UK.

Good quality repro though.

Repro`s are made worldwide but with import regulations,,if they are marked made in Spain,, you can bet that's where they are from !!  And not too long ago !!
