a 1871 - 1900 tea pot?

Hello,

I bought this in an antique fair today, from the mark, it says "da Qing Guang Xu Nian Zhi", which indicates it was made between 1871-1900.

It looks quite old and very pretty. Could this be a genuine one?

I have never seen the mark done that way before.  What makes you think its old?  Is there crazing, chipping, discoloration?  Just curious.

I have some from 1950 or 1960s and comparing to those, this feels older (just a feeling)

Can you attempt to take a pic and post of interior?

This doesn't look "old" to me (as in the date that the "da Qing Guang Xu Nian Zhi" marking that it is bearing would be) ....but then I am looking at pics via the internet!

This could be a copy...which are common of that period.  Also, if you search ones made from that time period...they look quite different.

It is still a very pretty pot.

Please also list dimensions of the piece!

I took some detailed look and maybe you are right.

Anyway I will take a photo of the interior tomorrow morning.

Repro. The design is wrong, the colours aren't what you'd expect and the manner in which they have been applied...well someone from the late 19th century would have shot themselves if they'd done that.

Have a browse through these results and take time to look at the colours, the designs. A couple will be incorrect but generally these are all Guangxu items.
