Antique silverware I know next to nothing about
« on: November 11, 2013, 12:17:36 pm »
I just started doing storage auctions, and in the first one I bought I found this mixed bag of silverware.  I did some searching online for the stuff but tbh got frustrated after a couple hours of digging through silver marking sites and only finding anything on two of the pieces, which are the second set of photos in this thread.

This one I couldnt find anything on..  There was one maker that looked similar but wasnt the same thing

Front Insignia:

Back Markings:

This one is a spoon that has a matching fork.  I found these before online when I first bought them and unfortunately didnt save the page.  My memory says they are made by 'Darling' but searching by that name has found me nothing :/

Two of the same spoons this time..

And one serving spoon.

Ill be happy to take more photos at request.. thank you guys for any help you can give me :)

The first spoon is Lunt, with their LRB and Treasure trademarks.

Has to be a couple of hundred here in total, value wise.

That's the reason you were having problems before !! Your pics are way over the size limit for this site !! I can`t see any of the pics !! If you click on additional options to add your pics,, look below where it says browse and the second line gives the maximum size for this site !!

what i find baffling..is how the hell they loaded on in the first place..they fill up my laptop  screen, and when i looked at them on my 50in screen..they were still huge....

Finally one spoon is showing and it says sterling so can we assume they are American made ?? Or did they use the word Sterling in the UK ?? I thought they did not !!

The one I can't figure out the silvermark is exquisite!!!

Agree about the other being a treasure Lunt mark.

Sterling retains it's value very well.  Your pieces need a little tlc...but do show some great wear/tear on them.  The monograms do affect value (can lessen them somewhat).  Will look later when I get more time.

I am confused why the site is loading them as well.  If I try and load a large picture it rejects it (like it was designed to do).  Hmmmmm.....

I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!
