If you end up with a thumb cast...then you can expect it to be there for anything up to 8 weeks,....with your thumb being the pivotal part of your hand it needs to heal properly...or else,...your hand will never function properly again...better with a cast, than without...i broke my left thumb 30 years ago, and they only put on a stiff bandage, and although my thumb healed, it healed a little crooked....which might be ok for a man....but for someone as delicate as you....well.....you might not be able to do all the things that you thought you could....get well soon....
