Old Silver Dollars
« on: December 02, 2013, 06:41:50 am »
I have seven "Morgan" dollars (1878, 1978S, 1978CC, 1880S, 1882, 1884O, 1896) and one "Peace" dollar 1922S). I haven't been able to find a buyer that will give me more than scrap value (i.e. about $20 each) by advertising on Craig's List, eBay classifieds and a regional classified ad magazine. I am interested in selling to someone that will buy them for their collectible value. What would be the best venue for this or is that all I can expect to get for them?

Not sure how, Debodun ? Your 1878 Carson City is in better condition than one just sold for $93 on Ebay

If I remember right you don't want to sell anything online.  That is where you will get the collectable value.  Not locally.  Have you tried a coin forum that allows selling?

As Ice says, if you,re not prepared to market them on ebay....then you are limiting...your options.....maybe its time you had a re-think....cos by the sound of things your garage sales have died the death.....
I make no excuses,and no apologies....but i like a good Malt,

Great suggestions to try!!!

I was just going through the safe and found a whole bag full that has been collected over the years for relatives.  Guess it will continue to be passed to the next generations!  :)

A client of mine just gave me a stack of them today to sell on eBay for him. Your other option besides eBay is through a coin shop. The only way to get full top dollar is to have them graded and to sell at a coin show or on a place like eBay.
Take every price I say with a grain of salt...
