don't think its old but is anyone available that knows the company?  The tin is very heavy--says made in india on the bottom.  Or the brand of coffee that may have been inside?

Sugar,

While not the exact same wording or etching, Ebay UK had this one:

Sugar,

I have discovered that using Google search (for your tin "Coffee tin made in India") for images. Then, when you find one close or exact, click the picture. This will open a window where you can opt to go the site. Sometimes, you have to play with the wording of the search term, but it's quick and easy!

I use this A LOT for finding Carnival Glass items.
