Heya, got one veeery old silver ring 925 probe, my great-grandma's ring. Im interesting what kind of diamond/brilliant it is. I also want to know year and value. especially year

Looks to me like amethyst with marcasites. As to age……will leave that up to those more familiar with jewellery. I'd say 40's or earlier.

Agree it appears to be a dark amethyst and pyrite/marcasite.  (It could possibly be a dark iolite stone...but doubt it.  Would need a hands on from a jeweler if you suspect.)

Setting looks like it would be from early/mid 1900's.

So, what does :::( mean?  

Honestly, I learned something new!  I would have just guessed it meant 4 eyes (like me when I wear glasses!)

I just asked all my family if they knew that was in insult and none of them knew it!  Wow...I could have been insulted forever and didn't know it!  LOL

well you obviously were,nt wearing your specs  when you clicked on the rolling eyes....which btw...up here is,nt neccessarily classed as an  insult...it all depends in what context you do it,....Avril does it with me ...after i,ve started talking the hind legs off a donkey....if you ken wit a mean... ;D
