I decided to look up an old bottle. J.C. BAKER & CO., 815 FILBERT ST, PHILADELPHIA. Sorry for the capitals, but that's what it looks like. When I searched for the the first time this is what came up. This is a bottle site. http://www.antiquemedicines.com/MedicineNexus/B/Ba-Bl.htm This is my picture my house. How can he use my picture without my permission? A long time ago I put this on bottle forum.net. I wanted to find out about it. All they told me was that it was a good bottle. I don't know what they really meant by that because they gave me so little info. you will need to scroll down.

He can't use it without permission he is infringing on your property.  I work for a catalog company and we find people on Ebay using our pictures.  We write to them and tell them to take it down that we own the photography.  If they don't take it down you can sue them and win.  That being said not worth the cost of suing but a nice letter to them usually does it.

There is nothing that would tell anyone that its your house !! Except that you know it !! When you post to a public forum sometimes there is a clause that you allow the use for informational/educational purposes !!  Its when it damages a person or product there is a problem

I had someone else use my photos once. They asked first. I just think it would have been nicer to ask. I may let him know that.

The way they look at it,, is that you voluntarily put it there for all to see !!  They didn`t search it out or find it somewhere else on a site !! Therefore no infringement occurred !!

No, you can upload a picture to the internet and it becomes the site / domains property.

Internet law is still being created and contested.

Not always.  If you upload it to a public site on someone else site it is ok but if they take it from your own site completely different.  At least that is what our lawyers said.

True but GA posted it to the bottle site!! They did not take it from hers !!

She said she uploaded the picture to another website. Depends on terms and conditions and other factors.


But i seriously doubt anyone's going to see that picture and identify the house.

Yep !!!  And it would depend if GA gave her email address at the site registration !! If not,,like some people here,,wouldn`t know how to contact her !!
