When I looked up roman numerals F was forty. XX=20 C =100 and ll means 2

CFX= Crucifix 12 If it had a cross and was meant for export could have been marked  for "12 in. Crucifix" with the cross !! So whole set would have been 12 in. total !!  Or if it were made in different sizes they would be marked  with what it is and the size by the maker !!

Was just talking Wullie,, I think it just a simple way of marking what goes with what !! May have had 10, 12 and 14 inch sets !!  Made in Italy !!

The CFXXII is a Part #, ...... me thinks.

This looks to be same design so maybe this one is marked with a CFXXI or a CFXXIII ..... to wit:

Well if he was on a skinny cross like that no wonder he came off.  He probably jumped... Where the C & the F both have dots after them probably company makers initials and then the XXII the part number.  Would make sense.  Was hoping it would be a bit more exciting than that though.  Bummer.

HA, you give up too easy and lose money in doing so. ;D ;D

That is a great piece for, ... uh, ... whatta ya'll call it, .... "repurposing".

Find something appropiate in your collection, other than a cross, say a picture, a plaque, etc., ..... and attach it to the front of it ...... and I'll guarantee you someone will buy it.

as cogar says...stick him on something different and he,ll fly...or i can make you a wooden cross from cedar,and you can stick him on that,as for...it being a bummer,...that conjures up many different meanings over here,..."heid bummer"....or "air raid siren".....or a braggard... ;)

I would find some weathered old wood and make a cross and put him there. Then I would hang it up. If you are not Christian, or a non symbolic Christian, give it to a Catholic, Orthodox or Lutheran church and they can make use of it.
