Hibriten Dining Set question
« on: January 18, 2014, 07:48:33 pm »
I have a Dining Set I purchased from a family that used it only for their holiday dinners.  It was in their family a long time, but I can't recall the age or the type of wood. It is huge and heavy!
The typical set-up has the two 33 inch sections of table with one 18" leaf inserted. That is nice for 6 people, with width of 42" and 84" length.
Then it opens for two more leafs and then reaches 120" and seats 10.
Similar to another post, all the is identifying the furniture is a label on seat cushion, Made by Flair Inc  Lenoir, NC-- for Hibriten Furniture Company. The date of delivery is blank, and there is a reference "This article is made in compliance with an act of: Dist of Col. approved July 3, 1926.... Also there is LIC. NO. N.Y. 32766 (NC)

Does anyone out there have knowledge of what I might have. I am divorcing and neither of us  will have room for it.
It has moved from Fort Collins CO to Austin TX and back. And is still rock solid!

Hibriten Furniture Co is the retail store that sold it originally !!  The date 1926 is not the date made !!   It has to do with the regulation and is stating the it complies with it !! Not sure what regulation that is without looking it up !!

The Flair division was not begun until 1958 so your table would be after that date !! Just a nice expanding table but the styling might make it hard to sell in todays market !! Hilbritin did make quality furniture mostly out of white oak so that should help !!I would expect around $300. to $350. in todays market !!
