Arabic Metal Bowl?

I was wondering if anyone knew where this bowl came from and if I could translate the name to do some research, it looks like it's hand en-scribed to me. Please let me know what you think?

Thanks I'll keep an eye for him, I'm not even sure what metal it is, it weighs 1.6kg or 56oz

i would say its copper,what size is it...apart from being over 3lb in weight,.....which is a fair amount of metal for a bowl....

Diameter is 21cm or 8.2 inches
Height is 11cm or 4.3 inches

at,s a small bowl...considering it weighs over 3lbs....would,nt like it bounced off my noggin....just a pity, the new Egyptian member has,nt popped in....by the size and weight of it i,m thinking it may be a personal finger bowl,...seeing as how ..muslims eat with their fingers, you can try searching along those lines...

thi one is half the size of yours....they are saying its an antique....but...yo u can take that with a pinch of salt....yours looks nicer...

The characters don't look Arabic. The far left looks more Thai.

oooooooooooooo!!...Classy.....or maybe i should call you Pinocchio....."After doing some research this is what I believe to be A fine antique 19thC Mamluk Revival Islamic bowl of hand hammered Brass with Copper & Silver"....now i wonder where you found ....19thC Mamluk Islamic Revival"......need i continue..... ;D ;D ;D ;D....this is, what  is called....caught with yer panties down.... ;D

You are right they do look Thai.  My ex was from Thailand so I am familiar with the culture.

Not really Wullie !!  I have done additional research on some items after listing it on ebay !! Not often but occasionally you want to know more to help your sale potential !!
