My husband brought this home today. No one was sure of what is was. It hung on the wall in a basement. My husband thought it was for soap. The stuff inside looked like pepper. The second picture is where there was a handle that turned. The glass is removable.

Neat! It needs a good cleaning and that's a understatement. ;D Where can I replace the handle?

It is unusual to find them with the catch cup intact. They are quite collectable. You shouldn't have too much trouble locating parts.

Strip that paint off of it and a sausage grinder handle might fit it, and probably will if it is an Arcade sausage grinder.

Thanks so much everyone. Great idea cogar. I just sat down for the evening and I'm on the hunt, lol. I want to take it apart to get the old paint off and  clean it. Or, should I not take it apart to do the work?

You will have to take it apart to do a good job. Just don't lose any parts ..... and don't be "prying" on it. ..... cast iron will break easy if "stressed". "Bumping" and "tapping" and lightly prying is OK, ..... but no forceful prying. (ps: the paint will probably have "glued" the sides together in places so use a utility knife to cut it)

If you have a "digital" ...... take pictures as you take it apart ..... unless you are a good "mechanicer"  ;D .......... then no need for the pictures.

Thank you cogar. I was just looking for a handle. This not going to be as easy as I thought.
