Hello! Any clock folks here?
I've only been learning about clocks for a few months, but my tinkering has been limited to spring-driven clocks so far. However, I came across this interesting piece at auction that has a weight-driven movement. It consists of a paper face with French lettering and a weight driven movement inside a black metal box. The sides of the box are open. My best guess is that this came out of a grandfather clock. It looks very old, but looks can be deceiving. I have scoured the innards for some sort of a maker's mark, but have found nothing. None of the words on the paper face turned up any positive hits via Google.
