Antique chinese/oriental pot

Hullo,

I recently bought this what which appears to be a chinese antique of some description.

ive spent some time researching but haven't found any similar pieces at all. Its approx 3.5 inches high

any information is welcomed

Early 20th Chinese jardiniere in my opinion. About 1920.

I am quite sure that this is Japanese Satsuma crackleware, probably not from the Satsuma area bur more likely Kyoto. I do not think the Chinese produced this kind of pottery (or rather they started much later copying it). I agree with the date Ipcress gave.

thanks for helping out. i had someone look at it in person and they tell me its 1870's Japanese Satsuma wear.

£2.50 was a bargain :)

Its not that early but £2.50 is still a good deal.

I can now see the lowest image - the crazing and the marks - and i'd agree with Mat about Japanese but still stick with the date.
