Lemaire binoculars from Grandma. ..

Hello...back with questions about these cool binoculars from my Dad/Grandma.  The say on them Lemaire Fabt Paris. Any further information on them for myself...A novice!

How big are they? They look like opera glasses but not as fancy as I have seen

They approx 6 in tall and 5 in at the widest point. R they binoculars or opera glasses? How do you tell the difference?

I thought opera glasses too but these seem too large for that !!

I think these are binoculars but they look older than the ones on this page !! You can look through all these but I would try to find a forum on them and ask about rarity !! Don`t clean them or anything till you find out more !!

They are field glasses.  Lemaire is the most common maker I've seen.  GG

They look more like the Lemaire civil war binoculars I have seen on google. Very cool to have something this old!

Yes. Multi purpose. Sometimes used at the races, sometimes for orienteering, usually as cheap military aids and particularly WWI.
