What does the tiny print say below the red mark ??  Are you sure this isn`t a copy ??  Why would anyone frame a 5% Gold loan bank bond ??  There was another similar either coming up for sale or sold  at auction !!

Where did you find it ??  Still seems odd to me that anything backed by gold would wind up in a frame hanging on someones wall !!  Hope you understand what I mean !! Its just not what someone would normally do !!

I think that's why they are called "Wallpaper Bonds". There has been a movement for years to get China to acknowledge their obligation to bonds that were defaulted on.

Thanks all, to answer this was found at some thrift store just sitting there,. I was not going to buy it but really enjoyed the way it looked framed. Thinking that maybe i should check it,  can this perhaps be some fake? i opened the frame and on the back found the coupons. I did see that ebay listing and not all that bad for a 10.00 dollar find.

Plenty of copies about. Remove it from the frame, check for the coupons and watermarks

Like the look of the stamps on yours though.
