Japanese Hinged Shrine
« on: May 13, 2014, 12:39:10 pm »
I have found others like this, but it seems like the ones I have found only have the information I already know (hinged shrine, Buddha, Japanese). Is there a specific name for these? Can anyone tell me about the recessed stamp (pictured)?

Thanks! I really appreciate it!

Hi, I think these portable shrines are called "Zushi". I cannot help with the stamp.

I forgot to say that the central seated figure is more likely a Kannon than a Buddha.
