the searching is done- they found nothing- can't imagine what the cost of that was and they are no closer than they were before.

Brings to mind the recently solved missing person(s) case in South Dakota. They even discovered enough "evidence" for a grand jury indictment.

Wow how horrible. Not long ago there was a case solved from 1989 here where I live. I think it was a couple of years ago or so. They had DNA evidence and it just so happened that the guy who did it robbed and held up a girl at the tanning salon a half block away from where I live and getting away he left blood on the door (I can't remember it from a struggle or what). There was just enough to put in the database and find out he was the one from 89. I will always remember it when she went missing because not only was she in my sister's class but it was on my birthday I believe that they found her. Plus, back then, not much happened around here like that. Hardly any crime. Now there is all kinds of bad stuff happening here because of the growth over the last 20 some years.  I hope they can solve this case soon.  Maybe since this happened, they will keep it going and maybe there will be more new leads.  The girl who went missing there, looks a lot like a young girl I know (the resemblance is close).  However, I know for certain the young girl is not her and plus, she is much much younger than the girl who went missing plus the girl I know, I have known since she was around 4 or 5 or so and she looks just like her dad.
I love auctions/antique stores! I love old photos & books. This is the best group on the internet. :) I try to get on often, but I've had 2 brain surgeries & a back surgery. The pain is awful so I don't get on as often as I would like. It doesn't take away my love of old stuff.

Nice that family members finally got some answer/closure.  So many never get that.

When I worked in law enforcement we had the cold case files that always haunted investigators.  I know they still do and there are those that still go back to the oldest ones to try and be the one to figure it out!
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

I was hoping for an answer but it's still a mystery...where would a 13 year old girl go?

I wish for the family's sake it were over, but its not, and leaves a bigger question than any answers.

thanks all for listening to this unusual post.

In 1992 a friend of mine went missing.  Over a year later they found her body.  Everyone knows who did it but they can't get enough proof.  Recently they started a Facebook page to try to revive the investigation.  So hope they can get what they need.

oh my gosh so many people have stories that are so awful--I have one more to add--the person who had the heart attack this week on the opposite side of the same road from all this digging was in actuality a young adult 21 years old who parked his car in front of his girlfriends house and shot himself to death..

She broke up with him and he could not handle it.

Sometimes its just a sad old world.  Hug somebody, it could make a difference.

I have to add again to this thread if its all right with the moderator.

The family owns a farm/acreage up north.  The authorities are now digging up there on their farm.

Do you think they would spend all of the money/resources without a real lead?  We are talking 25 years ago this happened.
