Matador with Bull Picture
« on: June 20, 2014, 10:20:01 am »
Hello all. Can anyone tell what the artist signature reads out as? I can't quite make it out. It looks to me it was painted on some type of leather. And the paints used seems to be a mixture of water color for the majority of the picture. And touched up with some type of thicker paint. Anyone know the possible worth of something like this, as well? Thank you very much!!  ;D

I can't read Spanish, but is it Gold Leaf Frame or metal? Water color I believe.

If it is on a non porous surface,, would not be water color !!  Water color has to be absorbed by the surface !!  That's the reason it is done in layers !! Most likely it is an acrylic that is done with a watercolor technique !! That would account for the thicker paint in some areas !! Its water based and can be used in a similar manner as watercolors !!

Artist appears to be K Alavize.
