Brass box
« on: July 06, 2014, 03:03:40 am »
Hi, I came accross this brass box with some foreign writing engraved on it. Can anyone tell me what it means and any history on this kind of box?  I will attempt to add photos. Thanks

The text is in Swedish and reads:

In memory of my comrades
pa Steninge Castle
Sweden
1911, 11 16

Steninge Palace is a tourist attraction.

Mart, I actually believe you are correct on the date. I just put it as it showed.  But due to the size and text, the date should read 11-11-1916.  They just used artistic flair!  :)
