Vintage chemistry bottle evaluation
« on: July 07, 2014, 04:22:47 pm »
Hi,

I've found this bottle in the chemistry lab where I teach. It looks pretty old having regard to its glass stopper which closes without sealing rubber. It's also in excellent condition. The following text appears under the bottle but it's not clear on the picture :

PATD MARCH
22 x9 1892

Does anybody has an idea about its age and value?

Thank you and kind regards,

L.

Well with the patent date had to have been made that year or later !! No way to know exactly when !! As to value since it has no embossing other than the patent date I would say about $30. depending on size !! There were likely many of these made and sold to schools universities and such !! You might check ebay for prices on similar bottles !! Check completed sales, not start prices !!

Thank you for your reply. The bottle is 8.5" tall and 3" large.
