old round window.

Hello all, I have tried for several years to find info on this old round window. I found it in an old west Seattle crawl space on the waterfront. How can I determine age, or if it came from a home, or vessel? And or value if any? Thanks!

Could you please give a bit more info , concerning the mat'l (s) that your item is made of & it's general size (& thickness of the glass) ?

My first impression is nautical , but the motif could be from a sorta common building theme around here (a Seattle native here) ... perhaps a piece of salvage from the former 'amusement' docks/areas on the W.Seattle waterfront (before , or after those docks & building burnt down) ?

The frame is made of 2-1/8 inch thick what appears to be pine. The glass appears to be an 1/16 to an 1/8 in thick the total window diameter is 10-1/2 inches

I have done a little bit more looking. I slightly took a sliver off with a blade. It seems to be made of ceder I think??

It looks like a ship porthole window to me

With glass that thin , pretty darn sure it's not from a boat .

Could even be from a passage-door , such as in a restaurant kitchen .

Was there an amusement park around there ??  Looks like some I have seen just as decoration on some rides !!  Glass that thin is  fairly recent !! Older glass was thicker !!

There sure was one , right on the waterfront of West Seattle , mart !

The thickness front to back makes me think it may have been used on a ride of some sort,,Merry-go-Round or such !! Perhaps where lights would shine through the window !! Would have been several around the top section !! Check to see if there is a variation in the diameter of the front of the wooden part behind the glass and the rear !! Maybe 1/8th of an inch or so !!

Is there anywhere I can take it to find out more about it? As I don't want to take it apart or alter it in anyway. Was it called Luna park?

Fancypants lives there and can tell you what it was called !!  I am in Texas and have no clue about Seattle !!  Best thing to do is find some people in the area that remember and visited the park !!  Someone may remember the windows and what they were used on or not,, whatever the case may be !!  Value is in the history,, not so much in the money !!
