Anyone know their Georges Briard?
« on: October 25, 2014, 04:45:55 pm »
Hello again,

I've been collecting and selling vintage and antique kitchen / glass wares for a few short years now. Georges Briard pieces have generally been very good sellers for me. I recently found this pair of plates and can't seem to find anything like them anywhere. I'm looking for approximated guesses for value. I'm thinking they were made in the 70's or maybe even the 80's, which doesn't make them very "antique" but I didn't know where else to look.

They measure 7 1/2'" and the back says "CIRCUS as interpreted by Georges Briard"   Any and all information and/or guesses are greatly appreciated!

As always, thank you!

I actually have a piece that goes with your set, I too haven't seen my piece before but obviously there is a circus theme out there....

Sugarcube, does yours have Trapeze swingers like mine?

There is a Circus theme on ice buckets and tumblers that I've seen. Those are from the 1970's but my plates are not pictured in that set in my "Designed and Signed" book. I do see one coaster in the book that has Trapeze swingers and it's from the 1980's. So I'm guessing mine was from around that same time...It's just odd that there doesn't seem to be a single one in existence on the internet haha.

Oh no! That's the worst :/

Well that stinks. I guess that makes mine that much rarer haha!
