How old is this bottle?
« on: October 31, 2014, 09:31:01 pm »
So my girlfriend's dad found this Gordon's dry gin bottle under a really old panel of roofing, its pretty worn and weathered and my guess is about 90-100 years old but id like a more accurate estimate, it has a REGd code near the bottom of the bottle which is: 610617
Thanks  :)

Oldest bottles would have used corks. Is there anything on the bottom. Is it embossed "Not for resale". Originally they reused bottles. What was once in bottles could change from time to time. Then taxes were instated, and patents started. Your were not allowed to refilled .

I see a seam to the top of the lip if I'm not correct.
