Epaulettes..Civil War Period ???
« on: November 03, 2014, 03:24:30 am »
I have just found this at a car boot sale here in the UK. Clearly and Epaulette of brass construction in three main parts and lots of scales, possibly Gilded. If anyone can read the letters  that would be great I can never read them. Every nook and cranny has mud in it suggesting its been in the ground but where I do not know. Some help needed possibly from any of you in the USA as the nearest I can get is similar pictures of Civil War stuff. I know someone will ask how much so £3.00 or approx $5.

I have no knowledge on these, but they could very well be Brittish, or? Why do you think it's from the Civil War?

Solved these are British Victorian scales of the  1st Royal Dragoon Guards as per the picture I am convinced the script is correct. Mine is the one on the right and a kind person has done the hunting for me. It may well go in a box frame now.
