How Old Are These Bullets

I have done some looking and came up empty handed on info for these guys.  Anybody out there have an approximate age?

The length of the bullet is not that important.

The diameter is, either in (hundrediths of) an inch or in millimeters, ...... because that defines the caliber.

Anyway, because of their full copper casing ..... they are probably military.

From here they appear to be .50 caliber ball BMG (Browning Machine Gun) bullets. I can't imagine how many million must have been produced and used over the years.

Rauville nailed it once again.  They are BMG .50 caliber tips.  I am not familiar with ammunition and was looking at them like they were the whole bullet.

they were still in use in the 70s in the British Main Battle Tank Chieftain as The 50 cal was the Ranging Machine Gun. One of the longest serving weapons with its 30 cal baby brother

sorry about the photo duplication but really struggling with the time its taking to post a photo. Not knowing its posted and then trying again that whole process is taking far too long.

My solution to that problem is ...... after I "click" to post my picture .... I just click on "Page" and then click "Next Window" to open up a second copy of AQF and continue on with reading the postings and new questions.

When my picture finally gets "uploaded" ..... I just "close" one (1) of the two (2) AQF "windows".

Just watch the "activity" bar at the bottom line of your monitor.
