Help with identification please
« on: November 18, 2014, 12:24:23 pm »
Hi, just signed up to see if you guys can help.
My nan has sent me these pictures and asked if I can do some research. From research I think it's 'chiffonier' from 1900's but I havent a clue what I'm really looking at. I have no extra info from her as she got given it from a friend. Could you guys help as to what it is and what it is worth?
Thanks in advance..

This appears to be a Victorian chiffonier.  Can you please post close up pictures of the hinges, hardware, etc.

Can you also tell what country this is located in and the history that she knows of it to this point!

Thank you and welcome to the forum!
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

Its a very nice chiffonier,,probably turn of the century or a little before !!
Values here are all over the place depending on how it is made !! From $500. to $5000. !! But we are in the U.S. !!
One reason is that you just don`t find too many of these with the mirrors in the U.S !! It was one of those pieces of furniture that not everyone had !!
Are you planning on selling this chiffonier ??

I can`t tell if its ebonized or the low lighting just makes it look that way !!
