Please help identifying this lion chair.
« on: December 07, 2014, 11:14:40 am »
Can anyone please help me identify this chair or the marking on the bottom. The chair stands 10.5 inches tall with small lions carved into it. It appears to say Yla Pa but it could be Vla ta or even Tlafa or a different combination of those letters. It is numbered 89. Also curious if this item came as a set with some kind of figure. I've tried looking up the marking at the bottom in various ways but cant find any leads. Any information on this chair would be appriciated. Thanks!

I am located in Pittsburgh, Pa. The chair came from the estate of a friend's deceased mother. She owned an antique store. The shop was located in North Hills, Pa.

It appears to be a "cast resin" chair, intended as a prop for a doll collector. Many of them came unfinished so you could stain or paint them as you wished.
