Hello and thanks! Great forum.
I have recently come across 3 items I am trying to research and thought this might be the place.

The first 2 Images are an old sword that was purchased in Turkey
The second set of images seems to be an ivory military cane
and the 3rd set .. I have no clue..

Any feedback is appreciated and will answer any questions!

Sword .. no sharp at all, more decorative?

Walking Stick /Swagger Stick/  ?  Ivory with silver decorative band and a clinched fist

No clue what this is or what its purpose is...Not even sure if its supposed to come apart or if it has just broken off at that spot as there is split wood on the top part...

Again, thanks in advance for any feedback!

No clue about the swords but we have other members that can help I bet !!  That last one just looks like a baton carried by some police/military units !!

Hi there.  :) the sword looks like a tourist piece my father brought me something similar back from that region in the 60s but I think yours looks quite a bit younger than that. The Ivory topped cane i would suggest that the top/handle is off something else such as a parasol it would be too uncomfortable to walk with. Infact I have a pair of Ivory handled fish servers with very similar handles. As for the sword stick  last photos it does look as though that metal piece should withdraw and possibly part of the tang is still inside the handle part as it looks corroded. You might try some grips and a little gentle pulling on the what looks to be a blade as it look pretty sad as it is anyway....Just my thoughts

Thanks,

I will do some exploratory surgery on the last item. ;)

The walking stick, I have now been told is military related (swagger stick?) and is either English or German and ww1/ww2 related if that helps.

Mmm,, I don`t know about the military issue on the swagger stick,, doesn`t seem likely they would have put flowers on it !! That would be a bit frou frou (lady like) for any military person !!

i did some surgery and concluded there is no blade there.. to me this the metal was most likely used to attach the top part to the whole baton ..

Well, it makes no logical sense to me ..... to make a wooden baton in two (2) pieces.

Unless it was a "noggin" knocking baton, .... in which case, .... the metal "insert" would surely be located on the "business end" of said baton.

Besides, why would the metal undergo that amount of corrosion iffen it was just a metal dowel "pin" holding the two pieces together? ???

Corrosion requires access to an "acid" ... or to oxygen (O2) and moisture (H2O), .... aka: oxidation, rusting.
