What is this thing?!

I was wondering if anybody could tell me what this is. It looks like something designed to slice fruits but I'm not sure. Could somebody please identify it and tell me how old it is?

Some kind of fruit section cutter? Fruit with no core like citrus?

It does look like an apple cutter, but it would fall. It's not balanced. I thought some kind of warmer. Candle in the bottom, but that might not be stable either.
