Perhaps a bit unusual Rauville, is that it was found in the desert southwest !!  She doesn`t remember where !!  If Islamic would there be some symbolism ??

I have just registered and would like to thank you all who have made comments about my little oil lamp. My ignorance has been replaced with some knowledge, so I can continue my quest to find out more about this little treasure of mine. Thanks again to you all!!!!

Thanks. Have been there and many other sites and cannot find a close likeness. Have been through this many times with other things. I may have to put it away again until I can get it appraised by someone in person. Can't make it to antique road show again this year. I could just list it on ebay, but afraid to do so without authentication. Your time and kindness are appreciated. Hope to be of assistance on this site in the future. Thanks

Reminds me of a olive oil lamp.

Trying to find another like it might prove difficult !!  You just have to look at how it is made and at others that are similar to know what it is !!  They are still being made today as you can see from ebay !!  You might try a site that specializes in lamps to help you more !!

I have a very small lamp that is dated 200BC that was donated to an auction by a friend of mine who is and works with archaeologists.  I personally can't tell it from another bu have to go by their expertise!  Would upload a pic but not able to right now.  Will try again later.

I received a "revision" upload from MicroSoft a couple days ago.

Who knows? Maybe the NSA is "checking" all photo uploads for child pornography or Muslim terrorist "attack plans".  ;D ;D

But, ..... I do not think the recent MS revision is the problem because the AQF server software for "uploading" photos has been extremely slow for the past 6 or 7 months ...... or ..... extremely slow at "signaling" the completion of said "upload" to the "user's" PC ..... which leaves it in a "wait" or stalled status until it receives that acknowledgement of "success" or "error", ..... which never comes, .... therefore the PC's control program has to issue a "time-out" interrupt to terminate the "upload".

Now I personally sent DontBe 2 or 3 E-mails over the past months informing him of the problem ..... and as far as I know he ignored them.

The problem might be a not-so-simple one, such as, ..... the memory storage allocated for the uploaded photos might have a "capacity" or "addressing" issue.

Too many photos ...... and the server is incapable of keeping track of them. :o :o

Thanks Ed!
