Metal Polish Walk Medal Mystery
« on: March 26, 2015, 03:25:23 pm »
Hi all,

Have a medal of sorts here that has been in my family many years. My father had it when we were children (and I'm 45 now). No one seems to know what it is. Google searches reveal nothing every time I look.

I believe the middle part is gold and the rest is silver as it has the markings on the back.

There's two men walking on it in the style of the sport of walking. On the back it has the words "UND Metal Polish Walk"

Any help in solving the family mystery of what this is would be most helpful.

Welcome to the forum , StreetScene .

Thanks for posting your cool little item .

Kinda looks to me as if the tops of the letters U.N.'D.' were stamped in an arch ....

Looks alot more like the letters " U.N.O. "  to me ... (who happened to be a manufacturer/supplier of metal polishes ) .

If it's a competition prize , these were most always plated with silver or gold &/or cast in solid bronze and other & etc metals .
Sure be worth checking all of it's pieces with a strong magnet , too .
