Looking to ID this clock -
« on: May 19, 2015, 12:21:51 pm »
We have tried to do some research ourselves but had very little luck. just curious if this clock has any value. I do not know much about it other than it says "Lexon" on the face, but the rear stamp, per Google, is a stamp for a German company named "Schatz" and the key says "Chelsea".

thanks in advance!!

It is a Schatz ships bell clock produced from after WWII until the company went out of business in 1986. A search on Google for Schatz Ship Bell Clock will turn up a lot of results.

Right, but the part that has me confused is that the one I have says "Lexon" on the faceplate. i did see some online that were identical to this one, except they said "Schatz" on the faceplate.

I see some that say Lexon and some that say Schatz. It does not seem to affect the value. They sell for 100.00 to 300.00 at auction. I would put yours at the higher end. Nautical always sells well online. I did not know from your post that you already had the information. Had I known I would have started from what you already had.

Yeah I was pretty sure because of the stamp it was Schatz brand, I just wanted to make sure because I am considering throwing it up on ebay, but do not want to mislead bidders. I actually took it to an antique shop today, probably not the best place to take it since It's not an antique, but he offered $50 I felt that was a little low... He didn't know what it was but thought it was a "cool clock".

Well, thank you for the help. I had an idea of what it was I just wanted to be sure... the nameplate through me off. Thanks again
