I found this clock today and am wondering what the design is called, how much it's worth and what would be the best venue for resale?

It measures approx 10" high by 5.5 wide.

I'm curious as to it's history, it has some engraving on the back "5169A" ?

JB 232 is raised on the bottom.

Any help is much appreciated!

The case is definitely metal. I could guess bronze, however in reading further perhaps a gold "Ormalu" finish as well? What is the best to clean this up with?

A good dusting and some warm water on a very soft cloth are good enough!  Don't know if this is a finish on top of metal or a metal plated finish so be gentle!

Ok, I tried that and it didn't work. It seems like green tarnish in some places? In any case, I'd like to clean it up and resell it, but I'm not sure where to post it or get an accurate value either.

Any ideas? I can't seem to find this specific one anywhere and have no idea what to price it at. The values online on similar pieces is anywhere from $100 to 10K.

Does anyone know of a clock collectors site/forum or similar? An appraiser perhaps?

Your clock is called a novelty clock !!  They made most out of spelter, pot metal, with a ormolu finish or others !!  They did not make the clocks,, just the case it is in !!  Many of the clockworks were made by Waterbury !!  Prices on clocks like yours usually run around $75. to $125. depending on condition !!

Thank you so much. I listed it on Ebay after I cleaned it up. Apparently this particular "Style" was a rare one. So I'm hoping to make my money back on this one :)

This is a Jennings clock, Mart. Dial and backplate have their mark.

Yes I know Ipcress but according to all sources I checked,, the reason the back is stamped is because they were specifically made for Jennings Brothers !! I found nothing that said they ever made the clocks themselves !!  Do you have a different source ??  If so please tell me so I will not give wrong information !! I checked 4 different sites and all said the same abut the novelty clocks !!
