Can anyone tell me what this is? And how old?
« on: August 09, 2015, 03:05:12 pm »
I recently picked up what looks an old oil lamp.  I was just wondering if anyone could tell me more more about it: What it is used for? If it is missing any pieces? How old? How much is it worth? Thank you!

Seems you are missing some parts on this lamp (chimney & burner) but look at this one

These were handy for the boudoir!  Most likely early 1900's.  Just search antique glass handled gas lamp and you will see quite a few!

I have never seen one quite like that one …. with a per se “raised platform” above the handle on the left side of the burner connection …… and was trying to figure out what it was for.

Maybe to support a “reflector” to keep the light out of the eyes of the person carrying the light?   ??? ??? ??? ;D

Like KC says; find a burner and chimney to complete it, and you will have a nice old "Greek Key handled/finger lamp".
