August Hausske Co.
« on: July 23, 2005, 02:06:44 pm »
I have a carved wooden (seat is curved to fit the body) chair manufactured by August Hausske Co.  100-108 Weed Street, Chicago, IL  This chair is original with the original manufacture label with limited edition numbered
on the bottomside of this chair.   Carved front legs at the bottom.  The two
back extending pieces are carved with open mouths of a dragon head or
something.  Back (back rest) is carved)  Excellent condition.   I am looking for info about this company who manufactured the chair around the turn of the century.   Any info on who to contact or where to research is appreciated.

it's a hard company to do research about this company. There is very llimited information about them. I also have an original tag on a eastlake set but it stated August Hausske bros and was handwritten to the K&B Krup. I did find out that they had a booth or something at the Great Fair and that they sold furniture in the Sears Catalog in about 1902.

Other than that I haven't been ablr to really find out too much more.
