Japanese woodblock book, Kyoto, 1697
« on: November 14, 2015, 01:00:13 pm »
I recently purchased this book. It seems to be one volume of four that are poetry pertaining to the seasons. I think this one is "winter". Published in Kyoto in 1697. All this info was gleaned from a piece of paper tucked in the book, perhaps from when it was sold in the past? Anyway, I know nothing about Asian antiques. I usually collect Antiquarian books of European or American origin.  Does anyone know anything about Japanese books from this time period. Rare, common, valuable?

Hum, that's interesting. The catalogue paper in this book specifically says it's one of four volumes. Maybe I have the one they're missing  ;D. It says the volumes are "spring", "summer", "autumn", and "winter.
