Identifying this dish

Looks like a Japanese Imari plate to me. Try doing a search on Imari plate and you will see a lot of them.

Yes it looks like a nice Meiji period Imari dish. Could you post a photo of the reverse side?

What is the size of your plate? It shows spur marks on the back, which could mean that it is a bit older than I thought, but these appear on larger Meiji pieces also. So, it could be a bit earlier, from the late Edo period? The sign in the center means longevity.

The diameter of the dish is 18.5 inches (47cm) and it is 3 inches deep.

Looks 19th century to me. Late 19th century.

Could well be later than that looking at the design and colours. Almost like a Chinese copy.
The base looks flawless.

( that doesn't mean it was made yesterday, just that the Japanese and Chinese have been copying each others styles since time began )
