Paalman Furniture Company table pattern 677
« on: July 26, 2016, 12:06:14 pm »
I have tried finding info online, but all I come up with for Paalman Furniture Company is rolling tea carts. I have a small 2-drawer end table that I would like some info on. I am not sure if it was refinished or not, but there is a small nail in the top so there must have been some repairs done at some time. Also, the drawers have longer side rails than bottoms, not sure why this would have been done or if a repair was performed on both of them as well. I would like to know when this might have been made, and any other info anyone might have. Thank you.

There was another Paalman thread that came up on this site about 5 years ago:

As you know, they were big tea cart manufacturers. Not alot more information than that. Their patents date back to the 19 teens, but I think your table (nice grain BTW) is later than that, around mid century.

They are best known for their Tea Wagons but also made occasional tables, fern and magazine stands !!  In business from 1916 to 1966 !!   Mid century is about right !!  No huge value !!  Tea wagons/carts are the most popular item they made !!

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I bought it because it is a lovely table, not really concerned about the value. Was just trying to figure out the period it may have been made in.

It's lovely alright, looks like mahogany. Good buy on your part!
