Ha !!  I am used to getting ribbed by Ghopper and Jacon4 !!   Keeps the forum atmosphere light and fun !!  Don`t you hate those stodgy, stuffy and utterly boring antique groups !!  Or those that had "had rather fight than switch" as the old cigarette commercial said !!  This one is more like a soap opera,, you never want to miss an episode !!
But one of these days,, I will get them back !!  :)

 See, I'm even using exclamation  points in a Mart-like fashion!!!

Been around me too long haven`t you Ghopper ??  Its a personality thing !!

Mart, hope you are surviving all the flooding towards your way.

We have friends that are in Baker, LA that their homes are now almost under water and never had any water issues there for the 43 years.  They HAD gorgeous antiques - notice I said HAD!  All waterlogged.  Evacuated all they could in 2 boats.  Their neighbor up the street got a un-welcomed deposit on the lawn (see picture) a casket! The cemetery is 2 blocks away (at least it used to be - now it has traveled for miles).  Fireants and snakes are floating in clumps and if they hit people they just attack! The rain isn't even nearly over....

So sad about the waterlogged antique news with your friends. It's got to be devastating; I SO empathize.

I hope there's some possibility for restoration!

Yes, I have been watching all that !!  Bad for everyone living there !!   It would be a process but some things could be restored to a certain extent !!  Would not be "original" but at least not lost !!

We have only had three inches of rain and it was needed !!  Nothing standing,,it all soaked in so no flooding !!  We never flood,,only the creeks and Sulphur River get a bit high !!

Sulphur River? I hope it doesn't smell as bad as it sounds. Maybe after you retire you can get a job ferrying people across...

Have to wait till we get another drought !!  Thats when you can hunt the sand bars !!  You can find lots of things,,arrowheads, sharks teeth, and fossils !!  Did have some really big teeth about 5 inches long but they  went with the ex-hubby along with all the arrowheads, war clubs, knives, scrapers ect we had !!  But it was a good deal to me !!  If you ever go be sure to take along the best mosquito repellant you can buy !! Those skeeters are big as buzzards !!  Well,,almost it seems !!
